Joseph MacKay, of Melness, will be singing "Mo mhallachd air na Caoraich Mḥr" - "My curse upon the great sheep" - and will be transmitted on the 17th June. Welcome to the Melness Internet Site
Welcome to the Melness Internet Site
North Sutherland, Scotland.

Scottish Map

This website has been set up with the express intention of telling the Story of Melness and its people through the ages. Melness has an interesting social history that deserves to be told. This website will always be a work in progress as there is so much material pertaining to Melness and the various small townships that make up the Village.

The Village of Melness is situated on the North Coast of Sutherland in Scotland. It is a very pretty village comprising a number of small hamlets and approximately 80 families live there. Melness has a fascinating History and it is intended that this Internet Site will provide a glimpse into the past and the present of this small crofting community.
